The village of Castellabate, located in the Cilento region of southern Italy, boasts a rich and fascinating history dating back to ancient times. Founded during the Middle Ages, Castellabate's history is linked to the vicissitudes of various noble families, including the Abate family, which gave the village its name. Other sites not to be missed are the "Porto delle Gatte" with its illuminated porticoes. Palazzo Belmonte, is a historic villa that sits between a five-hectare park and the sea and has a very nice private beach. Villa Matarazzo is a villa that belonged to an Italian entrepreneur who emigrated to Brazil in 1881. Today it is owned by the Cilento National Park.
